What Is BEarKind?
We live in a world riddled with anxiety, bullying, worry, fear and depressive thoughts. This can all be changed by developing Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and building Mental Strength. To help me spread this message of empowerment and hope to children, I created The Bears of Blueberry Forest, who through their pawsome stories, TeddyTastic Tools and funtastic resources, show children aged 4 - 10 how to understand their emotions, how to be kind to themselves and others, and how to have incredible self-love, self-belief and self-confidence.
My vision has always been to make these EQ Life Skills available, accessible and affordable to all children around the world, so I enlisted the help of my wonderful husband and one of my brother's and we started a non-profit company called the EQ for All Foundation. We immediately launched a campaign called BEarKind and took our big furry friends on tour to schools, hospitals, orphanages and malls, they told stories, taught some skills, did lots of bear dances, distributed little gifts and dished out tons of hugs. Children, and adults, of all ages loved them. We met so many amazing people on our tour who asked us how they could get involved and support our mission and vision, and so, I came up with this.....
When you join as an EQuipped member, not only do you receive the resources for yourself, but we will match it and gift the same membership you signed up to someone else who can't afford it. Your membership also supports our visits to schools.
Becoming a member also means that you become part of a group that gets exclusive content and unlimited support and advice. You also get a front-row seat into this amazing adventure of moving the world forward and making it a kinder place, one child at a time.
Our Mission
To make Emotional Intelligence development skills accessible to all children, so they can grow up feeling safe being themselves, and live happier and healthier lives.
What we do
We provide online, and print resources, to under-privileged parents, teachers, schools and pre-schools to help children to develop their Emotional Intelligence.
We also visit pre-schools and primary schools with The Bears of Blueberry Forest and run whole school assembly interactive shows that teach children all about kindness and bully prevention.
Our Intention
To visit at least three schools, one pre-school one hospital and one orphanage every week, which means we are able to reach 3000 - 4000 children per week and teach them the EQ principles plus leave resources for the children, and the schools, to continue their learning. Our goal is to reach 100 000 children by the end of 2024.
Our aim is to double that figure each year. The more support we gain, the more teams we can disperse and the more children we can reach.

This program is a 'hybrid' program. It's made up of an online course with accompanying book and tools, and a membership that includes support, Q & A's and new digital content being delivered to you every month.
You will immediately gain access to the course material and the support. You will start receiving the teaching resources once you have completed the course and received your certificate.

The fee includes Accredited Emotional Intelligence training, a full fun curriculum to teach your own children, or the children you teach, unlimited support via whatsapp and in the group, membership to our community, Q & A's and ongoing monthly training on various subjects to help you raise a happy, healthy child that is prepared with EQ Life Skills to deal with all the ups and downs of life.

There is no catch. I believe that everyone should have access to these incredibly valuable, life-changing skills, so I've made it affordable and accessible to all.

The accreditation is for you if you fall in love with this programme and would love to become an independent Tutor to teach children aged 4 - 10.

Yes, if you enjoy spending time with children, have patience and like having fun, then you can become a tutor.

Yes you can. You do however have to finish the course, pass your assessment and register with our accreditation body as a practitioner (which we will guide you through) before you will be able to teach. You also need to make sure that each one of your students / pupils register on the platform and buys their own workbook from us.

Yes you can use the Curriculum for Kids to teach at the school you work at. You may however not teach the adult course to anyone, instead invite them to take the course here. To teach the curriculum, each teacher needs to finish the adult course, pass their assessment and register with our accreditation body as a practitioner (which we will guide you through) before they can start teaching. You will also need to make sure that each one of your students buy their own workbook from us. If you are a teacher at an underprivileged school where the pupils are not able to afford to buy their own workbooks, please contact us on hello@deborahmcphilemy.com so we can discuss the possibility of getting the books sponsored.

The entire programme and all of it's contents is digital except for the student workbook. You may print out the digital materials for you to use to teach, but you may not copy or sell any of our materials.
All the characters and books are protected under copyright and are trademark protected.
Once you have passed your assessment and accreditation, you will gain access to the teaching materials and you will receive the link for your students to purchase their workbooks.
